If you would like to know what is the value of m in the equation 9 * m - 4 = - 18 + 2 * m, you can calculate this using the following steps:

9 * m - 4 = - 18 + 2 * m
9 * m - 2 * m = - 18 + 4
7 * m = - 14 /7
m = - 14 / 7
m = - 2

The correct result would be - 2.

9m - 4 = -18 + 2m

First, we transfer 2m to the other side and change operation from positive to negative. We also do the same for -4 and change operation from negative to positive in order to solve this equation.

9m - 2m = -18 + 4

Next we simply subtract and add from left to right, respectively.

7m = -14

Then, we can now find m by dividing both sides with 7…

7m/7 = -14/7

We’ve arrived at the answer!

m = -2

Checking:

9(-2) - 4 = -18 + 2(-2)
-18 - 4 = -18 - 4
-14 = -14

I hope this helps. :)
