The antagonist in the story of "The Wild Swans" by Hans Christian Anderson is the Witch-Queen. She is the stepmother to the eleven princes and the one princess and she curses the brothers to become swans out of spite and banishes the princess because she is too good to curse. Elisa, the princess, is the protagonist and she works to end the curse against her brothers.
