Year 2 is 88 million and in year 3 it is 96.8 million. 96.8 million-88 million it makes 8.8 million. So the answer is 8.8 million people.

Answer: 8.8 million

Explanation:

Given: The number of cars in year 1= 80 million

As she found that the number of cars on the roads increases by 10% each year.

Now, 10% of 80 million=
0.10*80\ million=8\ million

Thus, the number of cars in year 2= 80 million+8 million=88 million

Now, 10% of 88 million=
0.10*88\ million=8.8\ million

Thus, the number of cars in year 3= 88 million+8.8 million=96.8 million

Now, the difference in the cars in year 3 compared to year 2=96.8 million-88 million

Thus, the difference in the cars in year 3 compared to year 2=8.8 million
