The correct answer is: crop failure.

In 1315 a series of crisis in Agriculture struck Europe, and later were called The Great Famine of 1315-17. Most of Europe was affected and it caused a lot of deaths over the years.

It started because of a bad weather, and the crop failures lasted a whole year, and Europe only got to fully recover in 1322. This period was marked by crime, diseases and death.

One of the things that happened in Europe as a result of the cooling in climate that occurred in the early fourteenth century was "crop failure," since many of the crops needed a certain amount of heat to grow.
