There were 11 pieces of paper on a table. 3 blew away. What fraction of the pieces of paper blew away?

If there's 11 pieces of paper and 3 of them got blown away, the fraction is 3/11 because 3 represents the number blown away and there's 11 pieces of paper.

You need to find which fraction blew away so you set up the fraction of number of papers that flew away over the total pieces of paper that were on the table in the beginning. So you would get the fraction of 3/11. Hope this helps.
