I Need Help On a R.A.C.E it restate the question, answer, cite evidence, explain. The Question is, What is meant by the saying," we're like fish out of water?"

It means that you are out of your safety zone. You are doing something that may make you nervous or cautious more than usual.

I think it means you're like out of your natural habitat.
Like you're for example a book nerd (that's me!) and you go to this advanced technology conference, wouldn't you feel like you weren't in the right place?
