use the distributiver property which says
a(b+c)=ab+ac
so
7(9x-2)=
(7 times 9x)+(7 times -2)=
(63x)+(-14)=
63x-14

If you would like to expand the expression 7 * (9 * x - 2), you can do this using the following steps:

7 * (9 * x - 2) = 7 * 9 * x - 7 * 2 = 63 * x - 14

The correct result would be 63 * x - 14.
