Mitosis is the process in which chromosomes are distributed equally to daughter cells. It is a process in cell division that divides the cell in the middle forming threadlike material called chromatin. This chromatin eventually condenses into chromosomes that separate longitudinally into two parts. A part of the chromosome is then retained in each of the two new cells which resulted from the original cell.
Simply put, this is the process in which a cell divides to form two new daughter cells. With each daughter cell obtaining the same character of chromosomes that came from the mother cell.
