The Air battle above the English Channel to prepare for an invasion of Britain is the best describes the Battle of Britain. it is famously known as the Air battle for England where Royal Air Force defends against the German Air Force which began at the end of June 1940. The British and German air forces clashed in the skies over the United Kingdom and the battle ended when the Germany failed to gain air superiority over the Royal air force despite months of targeting Britains air bases, military post and civilian population.
