At top speed, a rabbit can cover 7 miles in 12 minutes. If a rabbit could continue at this rate indefinitely, how long would it take the rabbit to cross the 220-mile expanse of the Mojave Desert?

At top speed, a rabbit can cover 7 miles in 12 minutes.
Let’s solve for the unit rate:
=> 7 miles in 12 minutes. Let’s solve for the miles per minute value
=> 7 / 12 = 0.58 miles per minute
If a rabbit could continue at this rate indefinitely, how long would it take the rabbit to cross the 220-mile expanse of the Mojave Desert.
=> 220 miles / 0.58 miles/minute = 379 minute
Thus, it will take a rabbit a 379 minute to finish 220 miles.

\sf{(7~miles)/(12~minutes) = (220~miles)/(x)}

Cross multiply to get

\sf{7~miles* x = 220~miles* 12~ minutes}

We can divide by miles on both sides.

\sf 7x = 2640~minutes\\\\x \approx 377.142857~minutes

It will take the rabbit around 377 minutes to cover 220-miles.
