The price of a Panasonic 3D flat screen television decreased by 1∕5. If the original price was $1,500, what is the price today?

1500-(1)/(5)*1500=1500-300=1200

From the initial amount, as much as it cost to be deducted at the beginning of one-fifth of that amount. The difference of these two will be sought after result. Above is the solution.

1,500/5=300.

Therefore 1/5 of $1,500 is $300.

$1,500 - $300 = $1,200.

So its price today would be $1,200.
