a trailer has a mass of 2960 kg and It is pulled by a truck with a force of 7310 N. If the frictional force is 1820 N then what is its acceleration?

a= 7310-1820 =2960
5490 = 2960
a= 5490\2960
a = 1.855m|s^2

In order to calculate the trailer acceleration, we can use the second law of Newton:

\sum ^{}_{}F=m\cdot a

Since the frictional force is against the applied force, the net force is the difference between these forces.

So we have:

\begin{gathered} 7310-1820=2960\cdot a \\ 5490=2960\cdot a \\ a=(5490)/(2960) \\ a=1.855\text{ m/s2} \end{gathered}

Therefore the trailer acceleration is 1.855 m/s².
