Figure out what 100 divided by the denominator is, (in this case 100 divided by 5 equals 20). Then take that number times the numerator (2X20=40) then divide by 100 (40/100=.40 which can be written as .4 (Remember that dividing by 100 is the same as moving the decimal two spaces to the left.)

In order to turn a fraction into a decimal, you simply divide the numerator by the denominator of the fraction. In this case, we'll divide 2 by 5 and see what we get.

2 รท 5 = 0.4

Now we have a decimal of 0.4

This is your final answer.

If you wanted to turn this into a percent, however, you would multiply your decimal by 100 and get a whole number. It would make 40%
