Leigh will use 16 connecting cubes to make a model of playground. The model will be in the shape of rectangle and will have the height of one cube. In how many different ways can she make the model of the playground

Answer: 3 ways.


Explanation:

Given: Leigh will use 16 connecting cubes to make a model of playground.

To form rectangle write the above number of cubes in
m* n form, where m represents the number of cubes in row and n represents the number of cubes column.

We now that by using prime factorization the number 16 can be written as


16=1*16\\16=2*8\\16=4*4

Thus, the cubes can be arranged as
1*16\ ,\ 2*8\ ,\ 4*4 or vice- versa such that the model will be in the shape of rectangle and will have the height of one cube.

Hence, in 3 different ways she can make the model of the playground.

3, because one cube means like from a certain view the 2-d model IS one block high so 1x16, 2x8, and 4x4.
