How do you interpret a remainder

you add a zero on the bottom of your remainder and keep dividing until u have no remainder that's how my teacher explained it hope that helps please comment if I'm wrong! :)

When you divide, and you the number does not fit perfectly into another, you will count how much it did not fit, and it shall be called the remainder.

Example: 10 divided by 206

206/10

10 can go into 206 only 20 WHOLE times, and their are 6 numbers left.

20*10 = 200
206 - 200 = 6
