A small yacht weighs 14700 N. what is the mass?

Your answer to that would be 1498kg how did i get that?
14700=m(9.81) : therefore you get 1498kg

Weight = (mass) x (acceleration of gravity) .

If that particular yacht is on Earth, then gravity = 9.8 m/s² .

14,700 N = (mass) x (9.8 m/s²)

Divide each side by (9.8 m/s²):

mass = 14,700 N / 9.8 m/s²

= 1,500 kilograms .
