Anatomical planes are divisions of the body used in Human Anatomy to determine the exact location and position of a segment of the body. These divisions could make it easier for doctors and scientists to determine the specific movements of each segment of the body. There are three planes in the human body and these are: Transverse, Coronal, and Sagittal planes.
Sagittal plane refers to the slice through the human body that parallels the long axis and extends from front to back, dividing the body in to left and right halves.
