To find the expression, take the numbers over par as positives and the numbers under pair as negatives, so you can write this expression:

15 + (-3) + 6 + (-3) =

That is the expression.

To find the result you group the positives and group the negatives:

Positives: 15 + 6 = 21

Negatives: 3 + 3 = 6

Now subtract the total negative from the total positive

21 - 6 = 15.

So, he got 15 over par in the last four holes.

Given that he need at most 10 you know he couldn't beat his best score.

He score 15 - 10 = 5 over what he needed.
