one way is
1 hour=60 minutes
equivilent fractions are equal right?
ex. 2/4=1/2
therefor if it is the same rate,
work/time=work/time so

the given one was
27=work in 3 minutes
so 27/3 is the rate
then it is the same thing as x work/1hour
1hour=60 so
27/3=x/60
solve for x
multiply both side sby 60
1620/3=x
simplify
540=x

it can make 540 in 1 hour

 The question is, how many can it make in one hour. Well, if every 3 minutes it creates 27 inches, and an hour is equal to 60 minutes, then we will have to divide 60 by 3 which is 20. Then we do 20 * 27 which is 540. So, in an hour, the machine will make 540 inches of ribbon. I hope this helped! :)
