y = -2(4x - 1)(4x + 1)

y = (-2*4x -2*-1)(4x + 1)

y= (-8x + 2)(4x + 1)

y = -8x*4x + -8x*1 + 2*4x + 2*1

y = -32x² + -8x + 8x + 2

y = -32x² + 2

y= -2(4x -1)(4x+1)
⇒ y= -2[(4x)^2 -1^2] (because (4x)^2 -1^2= (4x-1)(4x+1))
⇒ y= -2(16x^2 -1)
⇒ y= -2*16x^2 -2*(-1) (distributive property)
⇒ y= -32x^2+ 2

The final answer is y= -32x^2+ 2~
