An antiviral drug interrupts a virus’ reproductive cycle. These drugs cure and control viral infections. Compared to antibacterial drugs, antiviral drugs only have limited spectrum and efficacy. The common antiviral drug that is used in most society is the antiretroviral agents used in HIV (AIDS) therapy. To this date there are only 11 antiviral drugs available to cover this virus. These HIV therapeutic modalities do not directly cure the virus but it reduces the symptoms of pain that a particular individual is feeling.
