perimiter=legth+legnth+width+width=2l+2w
l is 2 times w
l=2w
p=24
subsitute
24=2l+2w
24=2(2w)+2w
24=4w+2w
24=6w
divide both sides by 6
4=w
subsitue
l=2w
l=2(4)
l=8

legnt=8 in
width=4 in
