The cost of purchasing a shirt = $8.50
Percentage of sales tax that need to be added = 6%
Amount of sales tax that needs to be given = (6/100) * 8.50 dollars
= 51/100 dollar
= 0.51 dollars
then
The total cost of the shirt = (8.50 + 0.51) dollars
= 9.01 dollars
So the total price of the shirt including tax will be $9.01. the correct option among all the options given in the question is option "C". I hope the procedure is clear enough for you to understand.
