How can we tell if a fraction is less that greater than or equal to 1?

If the numerator is less than the denominator, then the fraction is less than 1.
E.g.: 3/4 < 1, because 3 < 4.

If the numerator is larger than the denominator, then the fraction is greater than 1.
E.g.: 5/4 > 1, because 5 > 4.

If the numerator is equal to the denominator, then the fraction is equal to 1.
E.g.: 9/9= 1, because 9=9.
