1. first, multiply 2 by 2. you get 4 >>>>>>(2x2)
2. then subtract 4 from 16. the answer is 12 >>>>> (16 - 4)
3. then multiply 8 to 12 >>>>>>>> 8 x 12

or if you still dont get it:

8 x ( 16 - 2 x 2 )
3. 2. 1.
