There are 241 chairs in the theater now.

Given:
9 rows
1 row = 26 chairs
7 extra chairs

9 x 26 = 234 chairs

234 chairs + 7 chairs = 241 chairs in all.

9 rows* (26 chairs/ 1 row)= 234 chairs.

234 chairs+ 7 chairs= 241 chairs.
