The Concordat of worms was an agreement between Pope Calixtus II and Henry V the Holy Roman Emperor. It seems to have been a fair compromise since there was an amicable relation ship between them after that. The emperor guaranteed bribe-free election of bishops and abbots and renounced the right to invest them with a ring and crosier. The pope granted Henry the right in Germany to be present at elections and to invest those elected with their lay (office of duty) rights.
