6 ounces of chicken* (3.9 mg Ca/ 1/2 ounce of chicken)= 46.8 mg Ca.
(Note that the unit cancels out so you get the answer)

there are 46.80 milligrams in 6 ounces.
Proportionality:
a:b = c:d
ad = bc
where: cross products are equal.
a = 3.9 milligrams
b = 1/2 oz or 0.5 oz
c = ?
d = 6 oz
3.9 : 0.5 = x : 6
3.9 (6) = 0.5x
23.40 = 0.5x
23.40 /0.5 = 0.5x / 0.5
x = 46.80
