Since his speed is maintained, we can remove it from consideration. We need to know the equivalent of 1 gallon to the number of miles he has to travel.

450mile ÷ 15 gallons = 30 miles per gallon

We can use this formula to know the total number of miles traveled based on the number of gallons of gasoline placed.

y = 30(x) y = total number of miles traveled, x = gallons of gasoline used

y = 30(1) = 30 mi
y = 30(2) = 60 mi
y = 30(3) = 90 mi
y = 30(4) = 120 mi
y = 30(5) = 150 mi
y = 30(6) = 180 mi
y = 30(7) = 210 mi
y = 30(8) = 240 mi
y = 30(9) = 270 mi
y = 30(10) = 300 mi
