Earthworms are segmented, tube-shaped worms belonging to phylum Annelida. These are habituating on healthy soils digesting live or dead organic matter. The following are benefits of an earthworm to a soil:

*Earthworms create water way systems, that is, water can seep quickly into the soil, by digging burrows vertically.

*Earthworms forms lasting burrows or mingling the soil with organic matter to make the soil more porous, thus, more oxygen to help the plants’ roots.

*Earthworms reduce the firmness of the soil and improve the cultivation of land.

*Earthworms consume organic matter as well as mix it with the soil.
