2/3 + 1/4x = 1/3

⇒1/4x = 1/3 - 2/3

⇒1/4x = -1/3

⇒-3 = 4x

⇒ x = - 3/4

Like this?

$(2)/(3) + \frac{1x{4} = (1)/(3)$

(x)/(4) = - (1)/(3)

x = 4 : -1/3

x =-(3)/(4)
