First find the length DE
a= The difference of 2 and 7 = 5
b= The difference of -8 and 2 = 10
a² + b² = c²
25 + 100 = 125
c = √125
Now find length EF
A = The difference of 5 and 2 = 3
B = The difference of 1 and 7 = 6
A² + B² = C²
9 + 36 = 45
C= √45
Now we have the lengths of the rectangle. Area of a rectangle = LW
√125 x √45 = 75 (units) ²
