Hello! I apologize that this question is so long. Please just help me as much as you can. Thanks!

During the period 1992-2000 the number C (in million)of people participating in cross country skiing and the number S (in million) of people participating in snowboarding can be modeled by
C = 0.067 t^3 - 0.107 t^2 + 0.27 t + 3.5
S = 0.416 t + 1.24
Where t is the number of years since 1992.
Write an equation that model the total number of people T (in millions ) participating in cross country skiing and snowboarding as a function of the number of years since 1992.

Concealed in all the words is the little word "total". That's all they're asking ... the total of people who do either sport.
That's just (everything that equals C) plus (everything that equals S).
