Edmund Spenser wrote the epic poem, The Faerie Queen, it talks about knights, dragons, ladies in distress, among others. It served as an extended allegory about living a moral life and what makes living a life of virtue. This poem was published in the year 1590. Spenser originally indicated that the poem was intended to be written twelve-books long. Up to present there are still arguments whether the poem that was published was a complete version.
He is known to be one of the greatest English poets and a premier craftsman of Modern English.
