Number of girls that feel sick = 3
The number of girls that were finally there for painting the eggs = 60 - 3
= 57
Then we can write the equation as
57(x + 8) = 60x
57x + 456 = 60x
60x - 57x = 456
3x = 456
x = 456/3
= 152
So it can be seen that each girl had to paint 152 eggs

The total number of eggs the girls had to paint = 60 * 152
= 9120
