He has 75 chairs
The x represents the amount of chairs in each row while the number attached to the exponent shows how many rows he was able to set up with the extra chairs
9x + 3 = 7x + 19
-7x -3 -7x -3
-----------------------
2x
=
16
x=8
2 2
Plug 8 back into the equation and you see that it equals 75 on both sides. So that means Liam has 75 chairs to set up
