France was the colonial ruler of Vietnam during the 19th and 20th century. It is known as the French Indochina Colonialism. This was an event where groups of French colonial territories were built all over the South East Asia. During the World War II, France's colonies in Vietnam fell. The Japanese were responsible for overthrowing France's colonies and soon overtook Vietnam's land until the year 1945. The Ho Chi Minh was a group of communist army that declared Vietnamese Independence but extended the war known in history as the first Indochina War.
