5 x 3 = 15
30 x 3 = 90
15+90=105
so that person paid $105 for that day

Answer:

Unit rate defined as the rates are expressed as a quantity 1 such as 4 miles per hour or 3 meter per seconds.

As per the given statement:

Kayaks rent for $35 per day.

⇒Unit rate per day = $35

We have to write an expression that can help you to find the cost in dollars of renting 3 kayaks for a day:

Cost in dollars for 3 kayaks for a day = $
3 * 35

The Distributive property says that:

a\cdot (b+c) = a\cdot b+ a\cdot c

we can write 35 as: 30 + 5

then;

3 * 35 = 3 * (30+5) =(3 * 30)+ (3 * 5) = 90 + 15 = \$105

Therefore, a expression that can help you to find the cost in dollars of renting 3 kayaks for a day is
(3 * 30)+ (3 * 5)
