We have the sum of

\mleft(x^2-5x+1\mright)+(3x^2-3x+4)

we sum similar terms

4x^2-8x+5

then we subtract (4x^2-5) from the result of the sum above

(4x^2-8x+5)-\mleft(4x^2-5\mright)=4x^2-8x+5-4x^2+10

then we sum similar terms, and we find the answer

-8x+10
