4100 written in scientific notation is
4.1*10^3
~
As a matter of fact, the coefficient should be >=1 and <10.

It would be 41*10^2. I get the answer (when it's a short number) by multiplying 10 by10 and keep going on until I think I found the number and multiply it by that number. 10*10=100*41=4100
