What is the slope of the line represented by the equation y=x/4-6 ?

x/4=x*1/4
Therefore, the slope would be 1/4

Given equation of line:
y = (x)/(4) - 6

we can write this as;


y = (1)/(4)x +(-6) ......[2]

On comparing equation [2] with equation [1] we get;


m = (1)/(4) and b = -6.

Therefore, the slope(m) of the line represented by the equation
y = (x)/(4) - 6 would be,
(1)/(4)
