The area of a sector is given by

\text{Area = }(\emptyset)/(360)\text{ x }\pi r^2
\begin{gathered} \text{where }\emptyset\text{ = 138}^0 \\ r\text{ = 12} \\ \pi\text{ =3.14} \end{gathered}

If we substitute these values into the formula for the area

\text{Area = }(138)/(360)\text{ x 3.14 x 12}^2

Area of the sector = 173.416

Area of sector = 173.4 (To the nearest tenth)
