The correct answer is B.

The word pasteurization is a name given to a method of treating food by heating it to a certain point to kill pathogenic (disease causing ) organisms but not harm the flavor or quality of food.

The method is named after the French Chemist and biologist Louis Pasteur (1822 -1895) who invented the process. Pasteurization is now widely used to treat milk. He also developed the germ theory, founded the field of bacteriology and created the first vaccine against anthrax and rabies.
