Take the second equation [ y - 3x= 5 ] and add 3x to each side: [ y = 3x + 5 ].

Now you can see that the graphs of both equations have the same slopes.
This tells you clearly that their graphs are parallel lines which never intersect.
Therefore, the 'system' of equations has no solution.
