The United States mobilized a strong military during World War I because of the Selective Service Act, random men would be called to the front to fight in the war.

The arrival of US forces in World War II was so important to the war effort because the US had an incredibly large and powerful industrial output, meaning that they were able to assemble and produce tanks, guns, ships, etc. faster than both Britain and Russia.
