Percentage of commission paid by the company to Ed = 15%.
The amount of commission Ed wants to earn = $450
Let us assume the amount of sales made by Ed = x
Then
15x/100 = 450
15x = 450 * 100
15x = 45000
x = 45000/15
= 3000 dollars
So Ed has to make a total sales of $3000 to get a commission of $450. I hope this is the answer you were looking for and the procedure is also clear to you.
