Socius in Latin means B. COMPANION
Sociable is defined as an individual's willingness to engage in activities with other people. Interaction among companions.
Social refers to the interaction of organisms to other organisms regardless if the interaction is voluntary or not.
Sociology is the scientific study of social behavior or society. It refers to the interactions among companions.

In Latin the word "socius" means a companion, a friend: the correct answer is B.
It in any case could not be "sinister" and this would have a meaning very distant from the meanings of "social".
We actually have a guess about the origin of the word in latin: it comes from the proto-Indo-European for "follow" so it probably meant " a follower".
