We have the following:

The equation in its slope-intercept form is as follows:

\begin{gathered} y=mx+b \\ \text{where m is the slope and b is y-intercept} \end{gathered}

we calculate the slope like this

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

replacing the points (-8,11) and (10, 2)

m=(2-11)/(10-)-8))=(-9)/(10+8)=(-9)/(18)=-(1)/(2)

In this case the y-intercept can be seen in the graph y is (0,7), therefore the value of b is 7

Therefore, the equation would be:

y=-(1)/(2)x+7
