Points 1.25 and -1.25 on a number line are:

Then, the distance between these two points can be calculated as:

Distance = 1.25 - ( - 1.25) = 1.25 + 1.25

Distance = 2.5

Because 1.25 is greater than -1.25

On the other hand, the points that are located 7.5 units away from -1.25 are:

-1.25 + 7.5 = 6.25

-1.25 - 7.5 = -8.75

Because 6.25 is 7.5 units to the right from -1.25 and -8.75 is 7.5 units to the left from -1.25

Answers: Distance = 2.5

Points = 6.25 and - 8.75
