We can say that the center of the development of the natives was around the availability of water in their territory, both to practice fishing and for their consumption.

Water is at the center of sustainable development and is fundamental for socio-economic development, healthy ecosystems and human survival. ... Water is a limited and irreplaceable resource that is key to human well-being and only works as a renewable resource if it is well managed.

One of the most important geographic factors in the development of different ways of life among Native American groups was "water sources," since those who lived by either the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean developed different food patterns than those who lived more inland, around lakes and rivers.
